It is possible to cure breast cancer, if it can be identified at the primary stage. This was disclosed at a press conference in the city yesterday by
Dhaka Ahsania Mission Cancer Hospital (AMCH) at its auditorium.
In this connection AMCH has takenup elaborate programmes to mark the Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
Dr MA Hai, Director, AMCH said, to identify the disease at its primary stage women need to be conscious about it, and they need to take expert advice at an early stage. The ignorance, timidity and superstitions of women increase the number of cancer patients in our country.
He also said among cancer-effected women 25 per cent are affected with breast cancer. The target of AMCH is to create awareness at the community level especially of the deprived women through its 800 centres in seven districts.
Kazi Rafiqul Alam President and Chief Executive of AMCH said, To create awareness in our country about breast cancer AMCH is giving 50 per cent discount for testing breast cancer by screening system, and providing information for identifying cancer at the district level, through rallies, roundtables, features in news papers and journals.
Md Fazlur Rahman Managing Director of AMCH also present at the conference.

This is not exactly a new discovery. It's more important that we find a solution for women to find breast cancer at a very early stage.
