I have found that I get sick very infrequently since I stopped taking pills for minor ailments.

Has anybody else experienced this?

I feel like my immune system has become something of a champion fighter, having had to deal with all the common bugs all by itself over the past number of years.

Could it be that nature's design of the immune system supercedes the collective knowledge of Medicine? Question

Yes, I have. It's been a while since I took any pill last time. I seem to remember that I often had headache in the past, but I don't recall when was the last time I had really bad headache. I don't think my not having taken any pill for a while is conincidence. My wild guess is that you'll get various withdrawal symptoms shortly after you take some pills. You have symptoms, so you take some more. This will give you more severe withdrawal symptoms, and will get you into really bad cycle.

I've also heard people talk about this. Having to take pills to combat negative side-effects of other pills, ad nauseum!

I think modern medication just hasn't stood the test of time yet, since it's so recent. Do we REALLY know all the long-term risks involved? Or do we just pop them with ... you guessed it... another soda? Rolling Eyes

I'm all for modern medicine, but I am almost certain that pharmaceutical industry does not need to be as big as it is today. Also there is something wrong with the fact that every other TV commercial you see is about drugs. So many people (in US) take several pills daily; there is something wrong with this picture.

I agree with you there. I'm not totally anti-drug, but I think they should be used when it is evident that the body will not recover without it.

But with headache pills, etc - I have found that it is in fact the water you drink the pill down with that alleviates the headache!
This is my little trick when younger family members complain of a headache. Within 10 minutes the headache's gone & they're fast asleep. Works for me too every time! Wink (which, I might add, just like you, is much less frequent too since I stopped taking pills for them!
Rolling Eyes )
