We've been briefly touching on politics surrounding healthcare in this forum, and I'm wondering if anyone's interested in creating this category in the forum, "Politics surrounding healthcare". It is an important issue, but one concern I have is that it is difficult to have nice clam ordered discussions on politics, and I prefer not to call it "Politics". What's everyone's take on this?

I think it's a big enough subject to warrant its own forum. Certainly here in the UK, you'll rarely watch a programme about politics with some references to funding, hospitals, doctors, nursing, etc. etc.

If we decide to not use the word "Politics", what word can we use? I think this can make interesting discussions, but I prefer not to go directly into politics for variety of reasons.

Particularly after the disorganized US election in 2004, "Politics" sounds like a dirty word; it also sounds violent. Also looking back the last a couple of years, it's hard to see it as a constructive process.

Healthcare system, health system. That sounds better. Other ideas?

I'm happy with the politics of healthcare, or the organisation of healthcare, discussion of healthcare provision.

Personally, I think "Healthcare Politics" or "The Politics of Healthcare" would be the least ambiguous.

I'd like to take Adi's suggestion and use "Organization of Healthcare." Anyone has comment on this? Also is there any suggestion for its description?

I just created this new forum, "
Organization of Healthcare Discussions."
Title: Organization of Healthcare Discussions
Description: Governments, non-profit organizations, private companies and number of other healthcare organizations affect our everyday healthcare. We cannot think about the quality of our everyday healthcare without thinking about these organizations. What is your thought on these organizations? What need to change? What need to improve?
Any comment on title and/or description? Also I'm thinking about creating the following two forums, "Pharmaceuticals" and "Hospitals and Clinics." Any comment? Any suggestion?
