How, do you think, stress affects your health?

I'm very afraid of stress. I avoid it like the plague!

I have a feeling it's quite a killer on the mind, body & soul! Exclamation

When you've got major problems looming, the lesser stresses seem like a distant pleasure you once enjoyed. Yet back then, they were the end of the world!

So I try to think about what I'm stressing about when it happens. Then Think about when there were REAL threats to stress about. This puts it more into perspective for me, and I choose to rather find a solution calmly. If I can't find a solution, then that toy goes back on its shelf, and I play with other toys in the meanwhile, until I can find a solution to it again.

Quick question. Do you think that smoking/drinking helps?

Drinking under stress is about the worst thing you can do! Most likely get pissed, then even more pissed off! Laughing

I don't think smoking really helps, although with the method I personally employ, I do manage to steal 10 minutes for myself to have a cig & go look at the view of the mountains & relax a while.

Some say that smoking will give you more stress in the end, but how do you counter-argue with that?

Well, personally, I'd be incredibly pissed off were I stressed & decided at that moment to try give up!!! Laughing

I don't think it really makes much of a difference. When you get used to something, it becomes your norm...

I think stress is something you need to be very careful about. It can creep up on you almost without you realising it. If you ever get early symptoms, it's a way of your body telling you to "watch out" and I think you really need to heed the warnings...

Many of these symptoms exhibit in many people. Is it fair to say that many people have some degree of stress?

What symptoms are results of severe stress? It really depends on each individual?
