Do you ever buy a newspaper or do you always read news online?

Just online. This is partly because I want to cut down cost. Partly because I never read the entire newspaper. Partly because reading online is much more convenient in many ways.

This is true. Half of stories seem like they are written so that one can feel better about him/herself by reading those bad news. Doesn't seem like it's the healthiest thing to do.

I'd actually like to see somebody come up with an online "Good News" paper! Idea

I'd read it anytime over any other large "Bad News" paper!!!

What do you think? I mean, there's got to be some good news around somewhere? Or are we just a world full of woes? Rolling Eyes

That's actually not a bad idea. There are so many newspapers, but there is no niche newspaper that only tells you good news.

I think it would be great if there WERE one! One would think people would prefer to read it?

mmm...

Second thoughts... people prefer blood, guts & gore. So I suppose that's why such news is so popular... and in the long run - why we have so much blood, guts & gore! Rolling Eyes

Hi Scolls - I was about to join your forum, but not being keen to state my full birthdate..... Rolling Eyes

I never buy newspapers as the TV & the net cover that need. I believe in the UK there was a paper called the Good News Paper or something similar - don't know if it's still in print!

I really hate the news these days, online & offline. I stay away from it. If there's an important issue going on, I'd skip to that section. I do love yahoo & google news, but mostly for the sports and entertainment.
A lot of the news stories out there are so horrid. I don't see why people see the need to re-post such stories on discussion boards. I try to get into the habit of posting "Good News" stories, as was mentioned earlier in this thread.
Now sometimes, it may be necessary to re-post a negative story, but not all day every day.

Oh well, everyone is different.

I do check news pretty frequently. When I find major news, I try to mention them in my forums and get discussions going.

I honestly don't see the need to buy newspaper. It's available online, and you can read much of it for free. Also there are a bunch of news sites like CNN, ABC, MSNBC, BBC, etc. I don't know, I personally don't find any compelling reason why I should buy newspaper.

I always read my local paper www.nzherald.co.nz online. I sometimes see it 'for real' at mum's house, but otherwise i just read it online. Besides, it's updated all the time with the latest news, so it's better than the paper version!
